I was going to write a post and publish last week, but you know, other obligations and stuff. And here we are. I don't even know how this blog post is going to go. But I'm just going to start writing.

It's 7:48 AM and I’ve already lost the will to log into two different apps and a bank account. But I’m alive. I’m breathing. And Beyoncé just reminded me on “II Most Wanted” with Miley Cyrus that soft life and outlaws can co-exist. So, should I argue this one?

Lately, the world’s been moving mad. One minute, everyone’s doing the “Espresso” bop like Sabrina Carpenter has cast a Gen Z spell on us, and the next, we’re deep in discourse over whether Kendrick buried Drake or just gave him a lyrical massage with consequences. The TL has been full of all kinds of drama and entertainment. And yet, I can’t even seem to map some time out for my Netflix.

I saw someone post on X, “Adulting is just your phone, your laptop, and your spirit taking turns to overheat.” And I felt that in my marrow. Especially in this Lagos heat that has decided to cosplay as the sun.

But through it all, through generator tantrums, Naira fluctuations, and international beefs between artists I don’t even know personally, I’ve been… here. Showing up. Drinking my water, stretching, and mentally preparing my Grammy speech daily.

TikTok says I should be journaling, meditating, and sipping matcha. Nigeria says I should be resilient, disciplined, and “married before 40.” The UK says I need to queue politely and not complain. And America? America says I should quit my job and start my own companies.

I say I’m doing my best.

This weekend, I just want to vibe. To romanticise the quiet. To achieve. Dance a lot. Laugh a lot. Post a selfie. Send that invoice. Write that chorus. Not overthink my entire existence then fall asleep listening to “Hard Fought Hallelujah” by Brandon Lake. Yes, God is always faithful.

This is your reminder. Just because the world is spinning like a DJ booth at an amapiano rave doesn’t mean you need to. Stay glowing. Stay thriving. Whatever your spirit says today.
